Vancouver Chocolate Run
The Vancouver Chocolate Run offers the following distances, allowing runners of all abilities to take part:
- 5 kilometres
- 10 kilometres
- Half-marathon (21 kilometres)
All routes follow paved park pathways, making them suitable for runners of all experience levels. Whether someone is attempting their first organized run or training for longer races, there is an option that fits most goals.
Each course features views of the ocean, mountains, and Vancouver’s skyline, providing a memorable backdrop throughout the run.

True to its name, runners receive chocolate at the finish, adding a fun twist to the event. Participants also receive commemorative souvenirs and finishing medals, while timed results allow runners to track their performance.

Scenic Running Routes Around the Park
All races begin near Lumberman’s Arch and follow sections of the famous Stanley Park Seawall, one of Vancouver’s most scenic running locations.
The 5 km route heads toward the downtown side of the park near Devonian Harbour Park before looping back along park roads and the seawall. The 10 km course takes runners nearly all the way around Stanley Park, offering continuous oceanfront views. The 21 km half-marathon generally follows the same loop but includes additional sections, allowing runners to cover extended stretches of coastline and forested parkland.
Along the way, runners pass well-known landmarks including the Vancouver Aquarium and the historic Brockton Point Lighthouse, making the event both scenic and uniquely Vancouver.
