Vancouver’s Eastside 10K Run

In 2026 the 13th annual Eastside 10K took place on Sunday, September 27th. The race began at 8:30 am at the start and finish line on Cordova Street and Abbott Street, near the Woodward’s Building. Hosted by Canada Running Series, the 2026 race brought together a record field of 3,700 runners.

The event attracts a highly competitive field, with Olympians, national champions, recent race winners and emerging Canadian runners competing for the podium. The event also provides opportunities to watch elite athletes compete alongside recreational runners.

What to Expect

The race features a competitive elite field on both the men’s and women’s sides. The men’s field includes the three most recent UA Eastside 10K champions, while the women’s field includes Olympians, national champions and emerging Canadian stars.

The elite women’s field includes Dayna Pidhoresky, the 2019 Canadian Marathon Champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympian. Makenna Fitzgerald also competes after winning the 2026 Vancouver Sun Run in 32:24, a time that would set a new UA Eastside 10K course record.

Gracelyn Larkin, an Under Armour athlete and 2025 Canadian 10K Champion, is also part of the women’s field. Other contenders include Kiana Gibson, a PanAm Games steeplechaser and UBC alumna, Ally Ginther of the Vancouver Thunderbirds, and Eliyah Brawdy, the 2025 Vancouver Half Marathon winner.

The men’s field includes Ben Preisner, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, 2026 Beneva Vancouver Half Marathon champion and 2022 UA Eastside 10K champion. Preisner shares the UA Eastside 10K course record of 29:20.

Andrew Davies, the 2024 UA Eastside 10K champion and Canadian cross-country champion, also competes. Thomas Broatch returns as the defending UA Eastside 10K champion after winning in 2023 and 2025. Broatch is also a Canadian marathon champion.

Other men’s contenders include Christian Gravel of the Vancouver Thunderbirds and Moktar Said, the 2025 UA Eastside 10K runner-up.

The race begins at 8:30 am, with the men’s elite winner expected to cross the finish line just before 9:00 am and the women’s elite winner shortly after.
